Greene County History

Greene County was formed from Orange County in 1838 and was named for Nathaniel Greene of Revolutionary War fame. Stanardsville is the county seat. The present courthouse was built in 1838 on land donated by Robert Stanards.

Absentee Voting

Are you going to be absent on election day?

Absentee ballots are available at your local voter registration office 45 days before election day. The office is always open on the two Saturdays prior to election day.
